Fund administration

In June 2000, the Specified Radioactive Waste Final Disposal Act was enacted. This act defined the financial arrangements required to ensure well-planned implementation of HLW final disposal, established the entity for carrying out the disposal and designated the organization responsible for fund administration and management. RWMC was designated as the latter, to be responsible for the administration of the final disposal reserve fund for HLW.
In May 2005, the Act for Spent Fuel Reprocessing Fund was enacted, designating the corporation to manage the reprocessing reserve fund. RWMC was designated as this corporation in October 2005.
